In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the health measures imposed by the government authority have significantly impacted the economy of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and self-employed individuals in Spain. The suspension of commercial activity as a result of these measures has led to a literal freezing of billing for many of these businesses, facing a lack of liquidity while all their payment obligations, including commercial lease payments, remain in force.
Gabriella Ballesteros and Ernesto Díaz-Bastién, in their article published in Expansión on March 25, 2020, address this issue focusing on how entrepreneurs can face lease payment deadlines under these adverse circumstances.
